Thin, overlapping, unusual tabular "scale" light-cathing plates with a soft pearly-to-vitreous luster reveal internal veining plus earthy red-brown and gold metallic glittering, sparkles of pyrite inclusions. Unique; color zoning and inclusion pattern. Hematite Included Multigenerational Calcite Cluster from Daye Mine, Hubei Prov., China. Plates are glassy and layered; the pyrite is metallic and sparkly; the rust centers are matte.
Complexity with order. The plates repeat, but never identically—interesting at a glance, not visually noisy.

A slow spark. Pyrite catches light as you move. That little flicker is a non-rhythmic natural stimulus, closer to sun on water than to a gadget LED. See less
