A large vintage wooden shooting target featuring a hand‑painted landscape with a calm lake, a small wooden boathouse and dock in the foreground, and snow‑capped mountains rising in the distance under a clear blue sky. A target symbol with concentric circles and a red center is placed at the top of the scene. Around the edge of the plaque, the inscription '19 Linden‑Festwoche 51' suggests that it was created for a festival or shooting event.

The target of honor or king's target is a traditional award in shooting competitions. The tradition is predominantly widespread in southern Germany, Austria and Lower Saxony. Honorary targets are donated and shot in honor of a personality, on the occasion of a birthday, a wedding or a prize shooting competition. They were often artistically designed and hand-painted, especially in the 18th and 19th centuries. With the advent of printing technology, targets were also created using artistic prints.
