DESCRIPTION
Sculptural, richly dimensional, and extraordinarily luxurious, the RH Talsari Silk & Wool Rug reinterprets an ancient Tibetan symbol through a sophisticated contemporary lens.
Inspired by the palbheu, one of Tibet's eight auspicious symbols, Talsari features a rhythmic tiled geometric motif that brings modern architectural structure to an ancient design. Rather than relying on dramatic color contrast, the pattern is expressed through the interplay of material, pile height, texture, and light.
Masterfully hand knotted in Nepal from lustrous silk and matte wool, the dense pile is meticulously hand sheared to trace the geometric pattern in high-low relief. The silk catches and reflects surrounding light while the wool provides a softer, more grounded contrast, allowing the design to subtly emerge and recede as the viewing angle changes.
Presented in the expansive 12' × 15' size and Wheat colorway, this is an exceptional statement rug for a large living room, great room, dining room, primary suite, or other designer-curated interior. Wheat provides a warm, sophisticated neutral foundation that allows the extraordinary construction and sculptural pattern to take center stage.
Previously utilized for upscale staging, this rug presents beautifully and has been professionally cleaned by K.A. Menendian Rug Gallery prior to listing.

DIMENSIONS
Overall Size: 12' × 15'
Pile Height: Approximately ¼"–½"
Construction: 100 Tibetan knots per square inch
The Talsari features a meticulously hand-sheared high-low pile, creating raised and recessed areas that give the tiled geometric motif its distinctive sculptural dimension.
Because each rug is individually handcrafted, slight variations in overall dimensions are inherent to the artisan construction and should be expected.

Talsari beautifully balances ancient Tibetan inspiration with contemporary architectural design. Its repeating geometric motif creates rhythm and structure, while the tonal Wheat palette and hand-sheared surface keep the overall aesthetic sophisticated and understated.
The interplay between lustrous silk and matte wool creates exceptional visual depth, making Talsari particularly well suited to interiors where material, texture, craftsmanship, and subtle dimension provide the visual interest.
It pairs beautifully with travertine, limestone, marble, plaster, warm oak, walnut, bouclé, linen, leather, bronze, aged brass, and other refined natural materials.

COLOR OVERVIEW
Wheat
Wheat is a beautifully nuanced warm neutral that complements the dimensional construction of the Talsari exceptionally well.
The palette reads as a sophisticated layering of warm wheat, soft beige, flax, oatmeal, natural ivory, and subtle taupe, rather than a single flat color.
The combination of silk and wool creates additional tonal movement. Lustrous silk reflects surrounding light while the matte wool absorbs it more softly, causing areas of the pattern to appear lighter, deeper, or more luminous depending on pile direction, viewing angle, and ambient lighting.
This natural movement is an important part of the rug's character and gives the Wheat colorway its exceptionally rich, sophisticated appearance.

MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
50% Silk | 50% Wool Pile
• Masterfully hand knotted in Nepal
• Crafted from an equal composition of lustrous silk and premium wool
• Exceptional 100 Tibetan knots per square inch
• Dense, finely detailed hand-knotted construction
• Hand-sheared high-low pile creates the sculptural tiled motif
• Silk provides exceptional softness, luminosity, and characteristic luster
• Wool contributes warmth, body, resilience, and matte textural contrast
• Artisan construction creates natural variations in shading and surface character
The exceptional 50/50 silk-and-wool composition is integral to the Talsari design. The contrast between reflective silk and matte wool accentuates the hand-sheared relief, allowing the geometric pattern to change subtly as surrounding light and viewing angle shift.

ARTISAN CHARACTER
Talsari is an individually handcrafted textile, and natural variations in shading, sheen, pile direction, texture, dimensions, and hand-sheared detailing are inherent to its artisan construction.
Silk is particularly responsive to light and pile direction. Areas may therefore appear lighter or darker when viewed from different directions or under different lighting conditions. This characteristic movement is expected in fine silk-containing rugs and contributes to their distinctive visual depth.

CONDITION
Previously utilized for upscale staging, this RH Talsari Silk & Wool Rug presents in beautiful overall condition. Prior to listing, the rug was professionally cleaned by K.A. Menendian Rug Gallery and has been refreshed and prepared for placement in its next home.
Following professional cleaning, select areas of the silk pile currently exhibit some localized compression and a slightly firmer hand. This can occur as the fine silk fibers settle during the cleaning and drying process. With placement, gentle use, and normal foot traffic, the pile can naturally relax and soften as the fibers are worked and the surface regains movement.
There are also a couple of very small, subtle areas of slightly darker coloration within the silk pile. These areas are exceptionally difficult to detect during normal viewing and do not detract from the rug's overall presentation, but are noted as part of a thorough condition description.
As with any piece previously used for staging, minor traces of prior placement, handling, or transportation may be present upon close inspection. Additionally, variations in shading, sheen, texture, pile direction, and hand-sheared detail are inherent to the silk-and-wool construction and should not automatically be interpreted as condition issues.
Overall, this is an exceptionally luxurious, beautifully presenting, professionally cleaned, and placement-ready rug.

CARE
A quality rug pad is recommended to provide additional cushioning and stability and to help protect both the rug and underlying flooring. Rug pad is not included.
Because of the rug's substantial silk content, professional cleaning by a specialist experienced with fine silk and hand-knotted rugs is recommended as needed.
Rotate periodically to encourage even wear and minimize prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
