Extremely Beautiful photo of a Father and Son on an aged boardwalk at Highlands Hammock State Park, Sebring Florida, that captures Old Florida as it has been for centuries. I am old fashioned and do not understand the technique, but the photo print ia actually in the white background. Plastic is thick and Heavy and drilled at 4 corners for wall mounting. It is very large, 4 by 3 feet and weighs about 20 pounds. It is like looking out a window at Highlands Hammock. I would call this a 21st century version of a Highwayman Painting.
The property that became the park was bought by Margaret Roebling, Wife of John Roebling, whose family made the steel wire cable for the Brooklyn Bridge, and every Otis Elevator in the World. . Margaret was being flown over Highlands County in an airplane George Sebring sold to her son, and flew low over a huge green area. She learned that the small City of Sebring wanted to acquire and preserve it; so bought it and gave it to City of Sebring. After her death, her husband John carried on her dream and had his engineer oversee building the magnificant stone but simple buildings, bridges and simpler version of walkways such as this. It was a CCC Camp during the depression, and to provide work for the young men, everything that could be done by machine was done by hand. It became the first Florida State Park, and is loved by local visitors, as shown, and visitors friom around the world. All appreciate the natural beauty of Florida a century ago; but few realize it tells of a World Class Love Story. Sebring was a sleepy little town of 10,000 people except during Race Week, when about 200,000 fans arrive. but Highlands Hammock is its best kept secret. It is on Highlands Ridge and all the Hurricane Evacuation signs point here; so suddenly it has become THE desirable place in Florida to live or visit.. Residents are fiercely proud of this park; so. any Federal plans to encrouch upon or change it will not succeed

Was used about a year in a corporate waiting room that surrounded visitors with serenity;; until a decorator redecorated, deciding corporate priducts were more appropriate. This and the other one for sale were very expensive for the corporation and were finest quality; but that was unimportant to their corporate image. Even in the Sebring area; this quality of natural photography, of this large size is very rare. less
