Presenting a rare and highly desirable matching pair of 19-Century Spanish colonial style Majolica pottery urn vases, originating from Guatemala. Exceptional examples of antique tin-glazed earthenware, each footed vase features a hand-painted floral and foliage motif executed in vibrant cobalt blue, soft emerald green, and earthy ochre glazes against a cream colored background.
The upper rims are beautifully flanked by two handed-molded, relief-sculpted cherub/angel figures peering downward over their wings, forming unique figural handles. While single examples of these Guatemalan angel urns occasionally surface, finding a true mirrored pair in this size is exceptionally rare. A magnificent, symmetrical statement set perfect for a masterpiece, console, or curated antique collection.
