A British midcentury teak storage cabinet from G Plan’s Fresco range, combining substantial practical storage with the softer detailing associated with the company’s later Scandinavian-influenced designs. The tall case is arranged around an open central serving or display surface, with three upper doors incorporating woven rattan panels that introduce texture and visual lightness to the façade. Below, a pair of solid teak doors conceals shelved storage, while three drawers provide additional space for cutlery, linens and smaller household items. Sculpted recessed pulls and gently moulded drawer handles are worked in warm timber, maintaining the cohesive, organic character of the design.

The cabinet is raised on a shaped stretchered base with tapering legs, giving the substantial form a lighter architectural profile. Inside, the upper and lower compartments provide generous shelving, while the drawers show neatly executed dovetail construction and internal dividers to the upper drawer. Designed as a versatile dining or living room storage piece, the combination of teak, woven rattan, open display space and enclosed cabinetry gives this midcentury highboard both decorative presence and considerable everyday function.
