Vivid color throughout -- mustard yellow, cadmium red, teal, cobalt blue, and white -- set against a soft lavender and mauve ground, with a diagonal band of turquoise cutting across the composition. The paint is applied with real physical texture and gestural energy, giving the surface strong dimensional presence. The thick, expressive paint layers and structural abstraction draw strong visual ties to post-war European expressionism and the mid-century American Bay Area Figurative Movement.
