Constructed of what appears to be solid beech wood, this versatile accordion-style rack features 10 turned wooden pegs and an expandable design. It collapses to approximately 5 inches wide and can extend to approximately 55 inches wide, allowing the width to be adjusted to suit the wall space.

The rack is stamped “Made in Yugoslavia” directly into the wood, confirming its Yugoslavian origin. Comparable Yugoslavian accordion racks are generally identified as mid-20th century, and examples from the 1960s are documented in solid beech wood.

A charming and functional piece of vintage European design for an entryway, mudroom, bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen. The pegs can accommodate hats, coats, scarves, handbags, towels, aprons, and other accessories.

The rack has existing mounting holes for securing it directly to the wall with appropriate screws and wall anchors. Mounting hardware is not included.
