A very important carved and gilded wood mirror, featuring a spectacular decorative composition inspired by the Louis XV/Rococo style.

The particularly ornate frame is entirely adorned with scrolls, acanthus leaves, volutes, and finely carved foliate motifs.

The upper section is surmounted by an imposing openwork pediment with a symmetrical scrollwork design, centered by a floral motif in the form of a basket or bouquet, and terminating in a large upright leaf.

The lower section also displays a remarkable openwork decoration of broad leaves and scrolls, resting on a rectilinear molded base.

The sides are lavishly carved, giving the whole a particularly elegant and monumental silhouette.

The antique gilding, with its visible nuances, wear, and repairs, possesses a beautiful patina and perfectly highlights the depth of the carving.

The antique mirror shows pitting, wear, and oxidation, particularly visible at the top, characteristic of its age and contributing to its decorative charm.

A very striking mirror, ideal above a large fireplace, a console table, or simply placed on the floor in a classic or contemporary interior.
