Manuel Costa Cabral
Portuguese painter, draftsman, curator.
1963 Graduated with a degree in painting from the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa.
1965-69 Worked in the studio of the artist Manuel Lapa and was involved in the design and installation of thematic exhibitions, among other things.
1971/72 He received a scholarship to the USA and worked under the guidance of art psychologist Rudolf Arnheim.
In 1973, Costa Cabral co-founded Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual in Lisbon and served as its managing director until 1994.
He exhibited regularly from 1982 onwards.
In 1993, he was appointed an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art in London.
from 1994 to 2011, he headed the Fine Arts department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, where he played a key role in promoting Portuguese artists and international study programs. This piece has an attribution mark,
