Their straight, sturdy frame is characteristic of traditional Iberian furniture. The high backs feature rich, hand-carved decoration consisting of geometric motifs, stylized fans, and triangular friezes. Three small turned balusters adorn each back, while the legs are topped with turned finials. The seats are made of sturdy straw weaving, offering a warm texture and a natural contrast to the wood’s dark brown stain. The straight legs are joined by several crossbars, ensuring good stability. This pair retains a beautiful antique patina, with irregularities, signs of wear, and slight variations in color that attest to its handcrafted nature. One of the corners shows slightly more wear, but this is unlikely to affect the overall weave (see last photo). These chairs will naturally find their place around a farmhouse table, in a kitchen, an entryway, or a rustic, Mediterranean, or eclectic interior. See less
