The figure is supported by a tree stump decorated with formed tendrils and is based on a round, stepped base with a gold-highlighted wavy band frieze and gold rims. Exceptional decoration in light blue-green. Modeller: walter schott (1861 - 1938) german sculptor and medalist; 1880-1883 he studied at the berlin art academy, worked as a freelance artist in berlin from 1885 and created numerous monuments. 'the ball player', designed in 1897, is his most famous work and is located life-size in bronze in the flower garden at the south end of königsallee in düsseldorf. The model was designed 1897.
