The fixture consists of a broad, shallow circular chrome body suspended from a slender tubular stem. A large frosted glass diffuser fills the underside, concealing three light sources and creating an even, softly diffused illumination. The highly reflective chrome shell gives the pendant a distinctly machine age character while emphasizing its simple geometric construction. Despite dating from the 1930s, the radically reduced form feels remarkably contemporary. The combination of functional construction, restrained ornamentation and pure geometry reflects the progressive principles associated with bauhaus and central european modernism during the interwar period. An impressive architectural ceiling light suitable above a dining table, in a living room, entrance hall or within a carefully curated modernist, art deco or contemporary interior.
