Large pair of Swedish Modern seven-arm candelabras designed by Gunnar Ander for Ystad Metall, Sweden, in the 1950s.
Each candelabra features a highly graphic arrangement of seven asymmetrical black painted metal arms at different heights. The tapered candle cups are finished with contrasting brass rims, adding a subtle decorative accent to the otherwise restrained black structure.
The architectural composition is characteristic of Gunnar Ander's metalwork for Ystad Metall and gives these candle holders a particularly sculptural appearance.
Especially attractive as a matching pair, they make striking centrepieces for a dining table, console or sideboard.
Good original vintage condition with age-related wear to the painted surfaces. The brass elements retain their natural patina with some oxidation. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
