Beautiful vintage circa 1960s - 1970s brass ashtray from India, featuring an intricately engraved floral and foliage design across the interior.
The shallow round bowl is decorated with a dense arrangement of flowers, leaves and botanical motifs surrounded by an engraved border. Two projecting rests along the edge were designed to hold cigarettes and give the piece its distinctive sculptural shape.
The underside is marked INDIA and retains its naturally aged brass finish and patina. Beyond its original use as an ashtray, this piece would make a beautiful catchall, trinket dish, jewelry holder or decorative brass accent on a coffee table, dresser or bar.
