Lovely authentic British blue & white tea set made by James Broadhurst & Sons (Staffordshire, England), commemorating Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee (1977 25-year anniversary of her majesty’s ascension to the throne) featuring 3 royal residences: 1 Teapot w/ lid featuring Windsor Castle (6 x 9 1/2 x 7H), 1 Milk jug/creamer featuring Holyrood House in Scotland (3 1/4 x 4 3/4 x 3 1/2H) and 1 Tea plate featuring Buckingham Palace (8 3/4). There is an iconic, quirky detail about this line. The backstamp on the plate has “Westminster Abbey” instead of Buckingham Palace — this backstamp mismatch is an idiosyncrasy of this particular commemorative line. An interesting talking point, indeed! Acquired new in England in 1977. Made in ceramic ironstone - Durable refined earthenware. Truly authentically classic pieces. Ships with care.
