An exceptional French Belle Époque buffet à deux corps (two-part cabinet) in beautifully preserved French walnut and high-contrast burled walnut veneer. This museum-quality piece bears the highly coveted, original stenciled workshop mark on the interior carcass: "E. Müller, Fabricant de Meubles, 97 Faubourg Saint-Antoine, Paris." This provenance securely links the piece to the absolute historic epicenter of luxury Parisian cabinetmaking during the late 19th century.
Exhibiting the finest traditions of the Louis XVI Revival style, the buffet is masterfully carved with classical motifs, including crisp, ribbon-tied floral wreaths and sweeping floral garlands in high relief. The upper display cabinet features a central door set with thick, hand-beveled glass that catches and refracts ambient room light, flanked by two flanking cabinets adorned with mirrored-match burled wood panels.
The lower credenza is crowned by its original, massive slab of deeply veined Breccia marble, boasting warm pink, cream, and tan tones that perfectly complement the golden hues of the walnut. An integrated mirrored backsplash rests between the two tiers, maximizing light distribution and creating an elegant stage for serving or display.
The buffet features its original, heavy, finely chased cast-bronze botanical drawer pulls, foliate lock plates, and original working iron keys. The entire piece is structurally sound and stands on elegant, classic Louis XVI toupie (spinning-top) legs. A magnificent anchor piece for a formal dining room, great room, or upscale entryway.
