Presenting a spectacular and highly decorative matching pair of vintage Chinese hardwood stools. Crafted from solid, dense hardwood with a rich, warm amber-brown patina, these stools feature classic Ming-style joinery with slightly splayed legs and traditional stretchers.
The most striking feature of these stools is the exquisite top. The square panel is inlaid with a beautiful, intricate "Bird and Flower" (Huaniao) scene composed of Mother-of-Pearl, pink shell, and painted semi-precious stones, depicting a bird perched on a blossom branch (the "Double Happiness" / Shuangxi Linmen motif). The top frames are further decorated with circular pearl dots.
These stools are solid, sturdy, and versatile. They are perfectly sized to be used as low side tables, plant stands, meditation stools, or as a striking decorative accent in any interior.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The wood is solid and structurally sound. The mother-of-pearl and stone inlay is beautifully preserved and secure. Minor surface scratches and natural age-related wear are consistent with use. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
