Made in Scandinavia in the 1950s, this coffee table is crafted entirely of pine and features a simple structure designed to accommodate various storage compartments. The top features two 18 cm side extensions, allowing the tabletop to be extended from 60 cm to a total of 96 cm. Beneath the top is a drawer with internal dividers, while a large woven basket made of wooden slats hangs beneath. A slatted shelf connects the legs and completes the structure. This configuration is typical of Scandinavian sewing tables of the period, designed to neatly organize threads, spools, and other work accessories within the various compartments. The overall design reflects the practical approach of mid-twentieth-century Scandinavian production, where functionality, simple construction, and quality workmanship coexist in a simple formal language.
