Heinrich Pforr is considered one of the most important Hessian landscape painters of the 20th century and was deeply rooted throughout his life in the renowned Willingshausen artists' colony, whose tradition of unembellished and realistic plein air painting he masterfully continued in his extensive oeuvre.
