The chairs are characterized by their highly architectural construction. Strongly splayed A-frame legs continue upward into exceptionally tall, angular backrests, creating a dramatic and immediately recognizable silhouette. The exposed joinery and substantial sections of elm emphasize the structural nature of the design. The gently shaped seats provide a subtle contrast to the pronounced geometry of the frames. Particularly attractive from the side and rear, the chairs reveal an interplay of intersecting diagonal elements, giving the set an almost sculptural quality around a dining table. The use of solid elm, honest construction and powerful geometric proportions strongly recall the vocabulary of Pierre Chapo and French Brutalist furniture of the postwar period, while these chairs are offered without a documented attribution.
