This atmospheric and expressive work presents two stylized human figures in an almost mythological scene, in which a kneeling and a standing figure interact in a soft, earthy palette of olive green, ochre, and delicate sandy tones. The standing figure appears to be holding a wind instrument to its mouth, while the kneeling nude is turned towards it, listening or supplicating. The artist masterfully utilizes the painterly qualities of color lithography to create a dreamlike and mystical atmosphere through flat, chalk-like structures, strongly reminiscent of the figurative expressionist printmaking of postwar european modernism. The print is limited to a small edition of 50/150 in the lower left corner, while a flowing, handwritten signature, legible as "h. Lindner," is found in the lower right. A distinctive, round blind stamp is also present in the center of the lower margin, unmistakably identifying the print as a professional edition or workshop print.
