A hand-signed, numbered work by Emil Schumacher (1912–1999), one of the leading painters of the German Informel movement. Schumacher was celebrated for pushing printmaking beyond flat etching — physically reworking his plates with hammers and shears to create dimensional, relief-like surfaces, a technique reflected in this piece’s folded aluminum element.
Signed “Schumacher” in pencil and numbered 49/68 from a limited edition. Presented in its original silver aluminum shadow-box frame with a linen mat.
