Since the 1700s, Baccarat has been an esteemed maker and designer of crystal glassware. This set of 6 cut crystal Champagne flutes exemplifies their exquisite detail and style. And while I do not know the exact age of these glasses, just take a look at the model featured in the 1841 catalog (see last photo, bottom row). There it is!
The flute has a truncated cone shape with flat ribbing on the lower half and a round base.
It has a smooth, rounded pontil mark, indicating that the metal rod (called a pontil) was smoothed over after it was broken away from the piece after shaping.
Not to get overly complicated, these handsome glasses have a nice weight and size and work well with every decor, from traditional to modern. They also have a very nice Deco look.
One final note: if you do not want 6 glasses, I'll be happy to work with you on a lesser amount.
