This stunning pair of French Empire Neoclassical style table lamps features an adjustable "student lamp" mechanical design. Inspired by early 19th-century French lighting mechanisms, each lamp consists of a central columns finished in faux-tortoiseshell or faux-Siena marble paired with sophisticated bronze and brass components.The mechanical design allows the solid brass cone shades to be raised or lowered along the parallel vertical rods, tightening in place with ornate thumb screws. This specific style mimics classic French bouillotte or desk étudiant lamps, blending functional task lighting with highly decorative Neoclassical elements—such as the elaborate acanthus leaf scrollwork, fluted finials, and heavily sculpted bases.
