Attributed to Edmond J. Spence for Keller Furniture in the 1960s, this is a pair of “Valkerie II” dining chairs. Made of oak with a sculpted design including a spindle back, a seat back frame that becomes the back legs (one continuous piece), squared to rounded front tapered legs, and distinctive chrome sabots on the front legs. These chairs have been reupholstered with a black and white woven boucle on the seats.
These chairs are unmarked; no maker’s marks are visible.

Nevertheless, there are small scratches, particularly in the legs, and the areas most likely to be touched, like the top of the backrest, show uneven coloring. Therefore, these chairs would benefit from being sanded and refinished. less
