On the Design:

During the 1920s and 1930s, the Chinese Art Deco movement—transformed textile design by marrying ancient Eastern symbolism with Western Deco color sensibilities. Moving away from rigid classical borders, these carpets championed spacious, open fields, dramatic asymmetrical floral compositions, and expressive pastel palettes. This contemporary runner masterfully channels that historic legacy, celebrating the painterly freedom and serene elegance characteristic of 1920s Tianjin workshop weaving.

The layout centers on a soft blush-pink open field, beautifully framed by a broad, contrasting lime-green border. Delicate red vinery winds fluidly along the edges, sprouting stylized chrysanthemums, leafy sprigs, and a traditional Chinese rockery motif rendered in notes of teal, lavender, and mint.
