This refined service bell / butler bell reflects the historicist taste of the late Victorian and Belle Époque period, when beautifully crafted functional objects formed an important part of sophisticated European interiors. Bells of this type were often associated with grand hotels, fine restaurants, prestigious cafés and affluent private residences, where they could be used to discreetly summon staff or request service.
The substantial cast brass body features detailed figural and narrative relief decoration, enhanced by a naturally developed dark patina within the recessed areas.

The contrast between the warm golden brass and aged surface gives the piece a rich and authentic antique appearance.
