A unique and highly decorative italian wall mirror crafted on the island of murano by the now-closed artisan studio "fantasy glass" di zane luigina.
this mid-sized octagonal mirror features an incredibly rich, hand-crafted mosaic frame displaying a masterclass of traditional venetian glassmaking techniques.
techniques & details:
aventurine & gold leaf: the outer borders and geometric inserts feature shimmering copper/gold mineral inclusions infused inside the glass mass (aventurina technique).
millefiori & murrine: vibrant multicolored glass flowers and accents are meticulously fused along the perimeter.
cabochons & reliefs: distinct deep-blue round glass cabochons and sculptural golden glass shells embellish the mosaic.
filigree trim: the inner edge closest to the mirror plate is elegantly framed with a classic twisted glass cane border (torcello style).
the mirror is in very good vintage condition and preserves both of its original labels: the silver foil "made in murano italy" generic label and the black studio label reads: "fantasy glass" di zane luigina, murano glass.
