The set comprises two Mahieu chairs and two Guillaume chairs. The Guillaume chairs retain their original maker’s labels reading “Guillaume – 23 rue des Arènes – Bourges”, while the Mahieu chairs are also identified by their original labels.

Made from beech wood, all four chairs feature traditional bentwood construction, shaped wooden seats and slender vertical back slats. The two models differ slightly in their proportions and detailing, giving the set a varied yet cohesive appearance.

The chairs retain their aged finish and show visible variations in colour and patina. Marks, scratches, wear and other signs of age and former use are present throughout, consistent with their history as French bistro furniture.

The chairs are structurally suitable for continued use and are sold together as a set of four.
