The beautiful, large charlottenborg ph 5-4 1/2 pendant lamp was designed by poul henningsen and manufactured in denmark by louis poulsen.

after the lamp was discontinued from louis poulsen's standard range in the 1940s, the concept was reinterpreted in 1979 by the danish architects sophus frandsen and ebbe christensen for the charlottenborg exhibition hall in copenhagen. A small blue shade was added to reduce glare, along with matte white shades for a particularly even and pleasant light.
the smaller ph 5-4 1/2 version was developed in 1984 for the aarhus concert hall. This piece has an attribution mark,
