Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the chair was conceived as a seat that resembles a sheet of paper. This is evident in the corners: the shell folds in the same creases as folded paper, enveloping the body rather than simply supporting it. This very folding is the defining characteristic of the series and the reason why the Nuez, despite its technical construction, feels soft and inviting. In this version, the white outer shell contrasts with the gray leather upholstery of the seat and backrest—the two-tone effect further emphasizes the creases, as the lighter edge remains visible wherever the shell wraps around the seat. The black central pedestal with its disc base is rotatable and height-adjustable; the surrounding footrest is positioned at a comfortable height. Finding eight identical Nuez bar stools on the secondary market is considerably more difficult than finding two—as a complete set, it's a real find.
