The elegant white-coated aluminium pedestal base supports a sculptural plastic shell, complemented by a comfortable fabric cushion. Saarinen’s revolutionary single-base concept gives the chair a clean, organic silhouette while allowing plenty of legroom around the table. This particular chair has various signs of wear and damage to both the shell and the base, as shown in the photographs.
