The design centers around a large spherical smoked glass globe, suspended from a brass and brass-finished metal fitting with a long decorative link chain. The glass displays an attractive smoky olive-brown coloration with characteristic bubbles and subtle variations that give every viewing angle a distinctive appearance. When illuminated, the textured glass produces warm atmospheric reflections and beautiful patterns of light while retaining the clean simplicity associated with European modernist and Space Age lighting of the period. The combination of the geometric globe, transparent smoked glass and warm brass hardware makes this pendant particularly suitable for Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, contemporary, eclectic and collectible design interiors. The fixture has been carefully refurbished and professionally rewired, retaining minor signs of use and age consistent with its vintage character.
