The chandelier features an elaborate … Read more Exceptional art nouveau / secession chandelier originating from czechoslovakia and dating to the early 1900s. The chandelier features an elaborate solid brass construction suspended from three beautifully ornamented decorative chains. A richly embossed floral brass gallery surrounds the sculptural opaline glass shade, creating an elegant combination of warm polished metal and softly diffused light. Particularly distinctive are the decorative chain links and finely detailed brass elements, which give the chandelier a strong architectural and sculptural quality. The opaline glass shade has a deeply modeled form typical of sophisticated decorative lighting from the period. With an overall height of 107 cm (42.1 in), the chandelier has an impressive vertical presence and works particularly well in an entrance hall, staircase, dining room or other interior with generous ceiling height. The chandelier has been carefully refurbished, with the brass restored and polished and the electrical system completely renewed while preserving the original character of the piece. Minor signs of use and age remain in keeping with its antique provenance. Fitted with 2 × e26/e27 bulb sockets and compatible with us electrical systems.
