The design combines a slender chrome-plated central stem with two gracefully curved tubular arms, each terminating in a sculptural frosted glass shade. The finely ribbed shades open into dramatic flower-like edges, giving the otherwise streamlined chrome structure an organic and highly decorative character. When illuminated, the frosted glass gently diffuses the light and emphasizes the relief of the ribbed surfaces and sculptural contours. The juxtaposition of polished chrome and floral glass makes the chandelier particularly characteristic of sophisticated postwar central european lighting design.
