Each pendant features a beautifully proportioned white … Read more Elegant pair of Art Deco pendant lights, produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. Each pendant features a beautifully proportioned white opaline glass shade with a softly rounded bell-shaped profile and subtle stepped detailing around the lower edge. The glass is complemented by streamlined chrome-plated metal fittings and a long tubular suspension, creating the sophisticated geometric appearance associated with European Art Deco and early modernist lighting. When illuminated, the opaline glass produces a soft, warm and evenly diffused glow, making these lights both highly decorative and practical. Their restrained geometry and combination of white glass and polished metal allow the pair to work particularly well in Art Deco, Bauhaus, modernist, contemporary and eclectic interiors. They would make an excellent matching installation above a kitchen island or dining table, on either side of a bed, or within a hallway or entrance. Both fixtures have been carefully refurbished and professionally rewired, retaining minor signs of use and age appropriate to their approximately 90-year history. Sold as a pair.
