This distinctive mid-century ceiling light … Read more Sculptural space age ufo pendant light by ludib bratislava, produced in czechoslovakia during the 1960s. This distinctive mid-century ceiling light features a wide domed body in black lacquered metal, complemented by polished brass-plated details and a perforated decorative brass band. A substantial patterned glass diffuser forms the underside of the fixture, creating a warm atmospheric light while the circular perforations allow additional points of illumination around the perimeter. The bold ufo silhouette, contrasting black and brass finish and textured glass make this an excellent example of postwar czechoslovak lighting design with strong space age and atomic modern influences. The fixture retains its original ludib bratislava manufacturer’s label identifying it as type z-02.
