Extraordinary Richard Franklin "TheSong of Athena" Finely Framed Statement Masterwork
Elevate your space with the ethereal, neoclassical grandeur of this exquisite "Song of Athena" statement art piece by renowned late-20th-century artist Richard Franklin. Measuring a commanding 42” x 34”, this exceptional work beautifully honors the masterful drafting and atmospheric sfumato of High Renaissance portraiture, offering a breathtaking homage to classical mythology. The composition masterfully fuses a delicate classical fresco portrait of the goddess Athena with sophisticated architectural sketch motifs, including Roman numerals and structural column details. The entire piece features a stunning faux-fresco texture overlay and is highlighted by shimmering, meticulously hand-applied borders and a regal crown of genuine gold leaf that captures and reflects ambient light beautifully. Signed in-plate by the artist in the lower right, the piece is housed in its original, premium gilded traditional gallery frame and features a professionally sealed dust-cover backing with heavy-duty hanging hardware installed. Both the artwork and frame remain in wonderful, pristine vintage condition with tight canvas tension and immaculate gilding.
