Sculptural and drenched in color, this ceramic garden table reinvents the barrel shape of classic Chinese drum stools. Slip casted in low relief, the six-sided stool is patterned with vertical ridging sculpted to resemble slender bamboo culms. The hexagonal seat is trimmed with a rounded edge - also shaped as bamboo - and quatrefoil cutouts perforate the sides for a lightweight feel.
The drum stool is cloaked in glossy shades of cool blue glaze. A milky, cornflower-blue drips along the sides and a deep sapphire pools at the seat, swirling with light & dark like ripples on a pond. Suitable for outdoor use, the glazed drum brightens its surroundings as an easy side table, patio table or garden stool.
