A testament to the weaver's skill, this example from the early 20th century remains in excellent condition, now lightly darkened with medium brown color.

The handmade basket is tightly woven from river reeds and cord, finished with a bentwood rim secured with reed binding and iron staples. Time has imparted a wonderful antique texture with gentle wear and a burnished patina. Today, we love these woven fishing baskets as elegant waste bins, laundry hampers or storage containers. See less
