This incredible wooden vessel wears a lifetime of history on its surface, deeply weathered to expose the wood grain and darkened by a smooth patina. Shaped from a single tree trunk, the wooden pot was hand-carved in Yunnan province to a tapered form reminiscent of a vase or grain mortar, now marked with imperfections from years of use. The resulting form feels wild and untamed, embodying the spirit of wabi sabi as an unexpected planter or a sculptural object.
