A handsome mid-century table lamp that pairs warm teak with natural cork in alternating bands, a signature 1960s MCM design. The sculptural body swells to a generous waist before tapering to a slender neck, with two crisp teak rings framing two panels of mottled cork. The cork's browns and blacks give the piece real depth and texture, while the wood brings a warm, hand-turned glow.
Standing nearly 40 inches to the top of the finial, this is a true statement lamp with genuine presence. The extendable brass harp (original, to the best of our knowledge) lets you fine-tune the shade height, and the lamp is shown with a warm vintage-style Edison bulb that flatters the natural materials. The tall drum shade suits this lamp well (in our opinion!) but is not original one.
The lamp would fit well with mid-century or early 20th century decor (see the attached design idea photos). There is no maker's mark that we could find. It could well be Danish but we do not know its producer or exact age.
It was rewired recently and works perfectly. It was oiled with teak oil. It has otherwise not been altered. The shade is included but not original to the lamp.
Overall height: 39½ in. (base to top of finial)
Base: 7½ in. W × 7½ in. D
Body at widest point: 9 in. × 9 in.
Shade: 17½ in. H × 14 in. diameter

The previous owner had the cord replaced before she sold it to me, and I verified that it works. She also recently oiled it with teak oil. There are some minor scratch marks on the teak consistent with the lamp's age.
