Description:
Presenting a beautiful and versatile vintage Chinese hardwood cabinet, crafted in the classic "Altar" style with upward-sweeping ends (Everted Flanges) on the top surface.
The cabinet features a rich, dark reddish-brown hardwood with a beautiful, natural aged patina. The top features two drawers with small metal pulls. Below the drawers are two doors featuring intricate geometric fretwork (openwork) panels, allowing for a glimpse of the contents while keeping them secured by a central metal latch and traditional brass hinges. The piece is finished with elegant carved spandrels at the corners and a shaped, carved apron at the base.
This piece is a perfect size for use as a tabletop display cabinet, a jewelry chest, a tea cabinet, or a statement piece in a hallway. The working drawers and internal shelf provide practical storage.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Structurally sound and sturdy. The wood shows a beautiful natural patina with minor surface scratches, small dents, and slight discoloration consistent with age and gentle use. The metal hardware shows an aged patina.
