Hand carved with a bold freeform, biomorphic composition, the sculpture centers around a dramatic pierced opening surrounded by softly modeled, organic volumes.

The form recalls the modernist sculptural language of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, with additional affinities to the organic abstraction of Isamu Noguchi and Jean Arp. Its dark mottled surface and substantial stone base give the work a strong architectural presence suited to Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, organic modern, and contemporary interiors.

Signed by the artist and retaining its original printed maker’s tag with original retail price, adding an especially nice element of provenance.
