McElhone was one of the defining figures of early 20th-century cocktail culture. After tending bar at New York’s Plaza Hotel and working in London and the French Riviera, he took over the Paris establishment that became Harry’s New York Bar in 1923. Featuring more than 300 cocktail recipes, the book captures the world surrounding the legendary bar through Wynn’s distinctive illustrations, photographs, anecdotes, period advertisements, and material relating to the International Bar Flies.
