The table lamps are a matching "sister pair" of Postmodern Studio Art Pottery table lamps by celebrated ceramicist Andrew Wender, dating to the early 2000s. Handmade and thrown using traditional raku-firing techniques, these sculptural lamps feature intricate crackle glazes and rich, iridescent metallic tones characteristic of Wender’s work.
Shades: Both lamps come complete with their original, custom-crafted hand-coppered metal shades. Multiple photos are shown.
Special Design Point: The copper shades are designed with intricate piercings - drilled pinholes that allow points of light to shine through, causing the lamp to appear in a glow. Please see the photo with the lamps turned on.
While identical in their architectural and geometric form, each lamp is uniquely individualized by a differently carved and colored totem/stem and two different colored inset ceramic "stones" or orbs at the top and bottom of the stem.
One lamp features hand-set ceramic accent stones in vibrant lilac and lime green, while its sister lamp features a coordinating stones in rich royal blue and light mustard yellow. The main "totem" ceramic bodies (stems) feature an interplay of artisan glazes that complement these jewel-toned accents.
They are fully functional and operate, as purchased, with their integrated pull-chain switches.
