A rare early example of a General Fireproofing Goodform model 3257 Comfort Master Jr. adjustable aluminum swivel chair, fully-restored and reupholstered. All aluminum parts have been cleaned and polished, and the steel stem assembly has been blasted and repainted black like the original finish. All mechanical adjustments work smoothly. Every screw and bolt head has been cleaned and polished. The casters have been cleaned and re-lubricated. Upholstered in a somewhat nubby red fabric that is era-appropriate for the chair (Charlotte Fabrics, D 1389 “Scarlet”, Textured Plains series). The chair is solid and there are no squeaks or wobbliness. Despite the full restoration, there are some scuffs and scratches in the aluminum common to age and use. Otherwise, this is as pristine an example of this Goodform chair as you will find.
