The table is constructed from substantial bent rattan poles in rich warm caramel and deep tobacco-brown tones. Gracefully curved continuous supports form the legs at either end, while lighter natural cane bindings accent the joints and create a striking contrast against the darker rattan frame.

Beneath the glass, a particularly attractive hand-lashed rattan magazine shelf spans the center of the table. Individual slender rattan rods are woven and secured to the supporting frame with natural cane bindings, creating an airy architectural pattern while providing functional storage for books, magazines and decorative objects.

The substantial rectangular glass top allows the construction beneath to remain completely visible, turning the table's framework and woven shelf into an integral part of the design. Softly rounded corners echo the curves of the bent-rattan base and lend the otherwise linear form a relaxed, organic quality.

At 50 inches wide, the table has excellent presence without feeling visually heavy. Its open construction and transparent glass top make it particularly well suited to spaces where a substantial coffee table is desired without interrupting sightlines.

Condition
Good vintage condition consistent with age and use. The rattan frame retains a beautiful warm patina with scattered surface wear, variations in coloration, small marks and finish wear appropriate to its age. The natural cane bindings show age-related wear and variation, including areas of loosening/fraying visible in the photographs. The slatted lower shelf remains attractive and functional.
The removable glass top exhibits normal vintage surface wear, including light scratches and marks consistent with use. No major glass damage is apparent in the provided photographs.
