Armin Sandig
Painter, graphic artist, draftsman.

As an artist, Sandig was self-taught.

During his youth, he came into formative contact with Werner Gilles and Gottfried Brockmann, who introduced him to painting.

Resident of Hamburg since 1951.

from 1958 onward, he created numerous prints for the "Griffelkunst-Vereinigung" (Griffel Art Association).

1960: First major commission for the ceramic wall design of a daycare center in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. Trip to Paris.

Until around 1970, Sandig primarily created Tachist, informal works, then turned to figurative representational art.

Exhibitions:

1949 First solo exhibition at the "Deutsches Theater" in Konstanz.

Furthermore, numerous solo and group exhibitions.

1980 Prize at the International Drawing Competition, Nuremberg
1992 Friedrich Bauer Prize for Fine Arts, Munich
